Psychological Therapy

Support for adults

I have specialist training and experience working with adults in the NHS and in independent practice around a range of understandable common mental health concerns, life stresses and transitions. I draw on extensive experience as a clinical psychologist offering a warm, nurturing and safe space to explore difficulties, and together build a map, drawing on psychological ideas, to support you move towards your preferred future and what truly matters. I am also a verified psychologist in Psychology Today.

This inlcudes:

  • Anxiety, anger, low mood & behaviour concerns

  • Adjustment / living with a long-term physical health condition

  • Transition, grief and loss

  • Trauma

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Issues around identity

  • Stress, life transitions / changes

  • Coping skills

My Approach

Feelings (all of them) are fundamental to being human. Living a full and whole hearted life is not the absence of feelings, it’s finding ways to navigate them that allow us greater flexibility, freedom and choice. Seeking help is a courageous step. My approach to therapy is a warm, open and non-judgemental space. With 10+ years training and working as a clinical psychologist in the NHS, working across the lifespan in adult and child mental health settings, I draw on a range of psychological and holistic approaches to explore concerns, connect to your unique strengths and coping skills, and move towards what truly matters to you.

I draw on a range of science-based clinical psychology models including cognitive behavioural therapy, systemic and narrative therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also draw on science, research and training in body-mind approaches, yoga therapy skills and tools to promote emotion and nervous system regulation, growth and transformation.

Understanding your Unique Experiences

I am interested in understanding people within their unique context, supporting them to give voice to experiences and build their preferred futures. This might include (although not limited to) family culture, race, gender, sexuality. We might explore the wider social political contexts that impact on psychological wellbeing and mental health, including systems of power and oppression, dominant societal narratives (for example around parenting or motherhood) from a reflective, relational, critical and community psychology lens.
